Mellow Aster is a toymaker. In Shooting the Moon, she is one of the suitors of Dovey Bluett, who runs the shop Penny Many-Things. Her goal is to have a window in Penny Many-Things dedicated to her toys. She is observant but myopic, impatient but methodical, and her toy dogs have the worst face design but the best tail wagging mechanism. Her design assistant is Stacey Lane.
Mellow is known to hang out at the speakeasy the Landslide, which is located just behind the strudel shop the Glacier Express. She can play the cornet.
She was cursed as a child during a trip up the Marchmont Mountains. As a result she has to drink rose oil on the night of every fifteenth (or every fifteenth night?) and the first blue moon of every year.
