How can a man colonize his own home?

– Kenneth Marian Colver, opening narration to "Wagon Wheel Pt. 1"

Kenneth Marian Colver is the High Viceroy of the Bilateral Intercession's occupation of Palisade. He works under Stargrave Elcessor.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Kenneth is a nebbish bureaucrat[1] who is "unctuous and self-aggrandizing, punchable and pitiable all at once."[2]

History and Involvement[edit | edit source]

Kenneth used to be the Silk, the minister in charge of Curtain diplomatic corps and spies (presumably for the whole galaxy). He was demoted by the Peaceful Princept as part of his reorganization of the Bilateral Intercession.

In his narration in the opening of "Wagon Wheel Pt. 1", Kenneth argued that anyone could agree that the origin of the Divine Principality was in the Twilight Mirage, and thus the Bilateral Intercession's campaign there could not be considered colonialism or imperialism. Layer Luxurious included audio of him in Perfect Imperfect to "learn exactly how a man like that tries to reshape a world in his own image."[2]

Kenneth attended the Elect Gentian's party on Palisade in with the intention of discussing bread tax rates with her, feeling that Stels Kesh and Nideo were more aligned in goals and history than those in the Frontier Syndicate who had already betrayed their own side once. However, he was rebuffed and foisted on Knight of Cups Perevel, as no one in Crusade's entourage cared at all.[3]

He was also present on the train when the Usher of Truth offered members of the Blue Channel various opportunities in return for gifts or favours. Unlike the Blue Channel members, Kenneth said yes to this offer. He was gifted a strange, rubbery body and in some way taken over by the Usher of Truth. Recognizing the danger, the BIS locked Kenneth in the specialized concrete developed by the Rapid Evening to contain Iconoclasts while they worked on finding a way to use this power.

Kenneth remains behind the concrete until he hears Thisbe and the Figure in Bismuth passing and, lying about his life being in danger from Tenn Alpenglow, convinces them to free him. Once he emerges, he opens Figure's flight suit and, with the Usher of Truth's power, turns Figure into a portal for the Iconoclasts. This effort, however, is thwarted by Figure turning the material their body is made of into concrete.[4]
