The Cause, known by the Bilateral Intercession as Hexagon[1] and later known internally as Millennium Break,[2] is a group of allied organizations secretly working together to oppose the Divine Principality's invasion and occupation of Palisade.

Factions[edit | edit source]

Blue Channel[edit | edit source]

Blue Channel is composed primarily of the Blue Channel's crew, but the unit also includes a few other operatives.[3] It is led by Gucci Garantine and supported by some Twill people.

Jade Kill[edit | edit source]

A military faction based in Joyous Guard, Jade Kill "opposes with direct assaults and force". The unit is led by August Righteousness and his Delegate liberation group, Reunion. It is supported by Kalar Anakalar's Giantkillers and a wing of Swordbreakers. The Giantkillers unit consists of several squads, including a Talonite squad, a jetpack squad, and a squad using the "wire things from Attack on Titan".[2]

Violet Cove[edit | edit source]

Based in the Isle of the Broken Key, Violet Cove is a strange faction that "opposes with the weird and unexplained". It is comprised of two distinct cults - the Cult of Devotion and the Dim Liturgy - as well as newly-arrived forces from the Twilight Mirage. Saint Decario Dicario is the leader of Violet Cove.[4]

Violet Cove has been found by Asepsis to harbour a number of BIS spies.[5]

Grey Pond[edit | edit source]

Grey Pond is a group of suppliers, led by Jesset City,[4] that "opposes with new equipment or supplies". It is based out of the hills of Sinder Karst and comprised of blue-collar revolutionaries from the Oxblood Clan, the Company of the Spade, and the Concrete Front.

Carmine Bight[edit | edit source]

Carmine Bight, based in Rifle Island, is a group of maritime adventurers that "opposes with bold action and unpredictable tactics". Its members are submarine pilots and submarine pirates, long descendants of the Herringbone Flotilla and Lineage Brighton. Carmine Bight is led by Captain Skelton Knaggs and "guided by a coalition of Hyphan navigators".

Rose River[edit | edit source]

Rose River is based out of New Oath and led by Véronique and the Divine Fealty.[4] It began as a research unit that opposed the Authority with "ingenuity and curiosity" and, at the behest of Kalvin Brnine, later became an assassination and subterfuge unit.[2] Melancholy and dreamlike, hoping for "a day when they can be something other than soldiers", Rose River's members include supporters of Veronique and Fealty and an NEH Sleep Detachment squad from over 5,000 years ago. (This latter group includes Lonny and T from the Twilight Mirage "godspeed, glory" episode descriptions.)
