Spannheuser Funfair and Amusements Company was founded in 1883 by John-Peter Foster Jr, the son of a candy/tire magnate (one was made with the by-product of the other, but they never say which is which). Spannheuser wasn’t the original name, as is was changed in the 50s to reflect changing audience tastes.

You can theoretically rent rides from it, and they have a desk for this, but when you try you “get run around in circles” by the person manning the desk.

The Funfair appears periodically in different parking lots throughout Bluff City. When seen in Anomaly, it has set itself up in the parking lot of the St Andrews Church.

Rides

The Woods of Woe

An old-school dark ride in that it is based on hell/scary stuff. There is rumoured to be real skeletons in the ride (as these are cheaper than fake skeletons). Inside the ride there are trees, diaphanous dirty fabric, and old recorded laughter where you can hear the metallic tinge because the speakers are broken.

Adventure Galley

A pirate boat ride.

The Zipper

A rollercoaster which would duplicate items that fell off of people during the ride.

Snakeasauraus

A new ride, which was gained by the Funfair by killing someone within the Funfair.

Virtual Rollercoaster

Moving chairs with VR goggles.

Food

Funnel cake.

Park 2

After the success of the first location, a second location appeared on the other side of Bluff City.

Anomalies Events

  • False memories of visiting the Funfair
  • People becoming trapped inside the Funfair, and then specific areas of the Funfair
  • Duplicating items that are lost while riding the Zipper
  • The weather inside the Funfair being suspicious perfect, despite the weather outside of the Funfair (always summer to early fall)
  • No employee seen leaving the Funfair
  • Exit turnstiles breaking, preventing people from leaving the Funfair
  • Some people become duplicated
  • A fire set by Concern agents turns into a fireworks show
  • Park clowns - can appear as traditional clowns, off-brand mascots, or even “meta” clowns (19 year old arts major wearing t-shrts that say, in the got milk font, ‘got CBD? The C stands for clown’ on it)
  • Local wildlife begins to act friendly trying to take the place of pets of those who take any action that the Funfair sees as permission (buying invisible leash/ferret-on-a-ball etc, looking at a photo of a pet etc)
  • A giant statue of the pirate Captain Kidd shows up in the middle of the park near the Adventure Galley
