Template:Infobox NPC Figure A is a synthetic who was the first Janitor of Crystal Palace. During their time working for the machine, they cleaned the data it provided, searching for information of importance, and translating it into a form that could be used by the Rapid Evening and their agents.

History

They started work at Crystal Palace on the day that their citizenship in the Principality of Kesh was verified by the Synthetic Naturalisation Board. They were overjoyed with their role, saying that they fitted in perfectly, and that it seemed like their workstation had been designed to fit them perfectly.

They worked continuously from then onwards, seeking to satisfy the requests of their higher ups by "finding better sentences" that better allowed the Rapid Evening to act--so that certainty would become available--and enjoying the work; they felt so much excitement for their work, and found the Palace beautiful.

Several years later, and after Ms. Leal Leraphon had been replaced, and her replacement had been replaced, the managers of Crystal Palace decided that Figure A was too costly to continue employing, and that their organic counterparts had learned enough to perform as good a job.

22 years after this, they were placed in a museum, with a plaque that says "The First Janitor." They were eventually, as Crystal Palace predicted, forgotten.

Personality

Figure A has a tendency to say multiple words with the same meaning when explaining things, such as "kismet, good fortune, destiny, predestination".

They greatly enjoyed working for Crystal Palace, and found beauty in the sentences it generated, and wonder in the futures that it predicted. They were, at least in some part, bitter when they were removed from Crystal Palace told them that they would be forgotten, remarking to Crystal Palace in return that it too would be forgotten--something that it denied in a prediction of events after its destruction.

And there was so much excitement. It is a wonder to see the future, one day, destiny, kismet. It is a wonder to know the difference between sense, and certainty.
