Andrew Swan plays Even Gardner, a Catabolist. Even uses They/them pronouns (In episode 00)

They reject all conventional cybernetics and have to develop their own by way of their Omni-tool. Which, originally, is a spider-like thing that allows for animals to cross-breed with each other by connecting to each one and interchanging genetics. Which was transformed into a cyborg animal latched onto their nervous system, docking onto their back where the port for it is.

This animal converts technology into stuff that is compatible with Even's biology, allowing for cybernetics to be possible only by this method.

Even believes that they do this because fear has them and believes they shouldn't do this but the alternative is worse. They're a pilot and old and losing their touch. Their body is ready to retire but they are not ready to retire, especially because of the current scenario.
