The 'Cult of the Dark Sun', also known as the Sect of the Dark Sun, (by its members) the Church of the Dark Sun, or Church of the Dark Son is a clandestine post-Erasure religious group in Hieron. Their motto is, "Play in the Dark, and the Heat will warm your bones."

They believe in accelerating the arrival of the Heat and the Dark to end worldly suffering.

The cult has been active in Rosemerrow, Kanton, the Buoy and possibly Velas. Their name can cause some homophone confusion, and might actually refer to a Dark Son, not a Dark Sun.
