Plot[edit | edit source]

On the ship above Big Garage, Fourteen and Waltz Tango (Cache) face off as Tender, Grand, Gig and Yam attempt to defend themselves from the ocelli. Grand attempts to shoot an ocelli and fails, but avoids being captured. Fourteen and Waltz grapple with each other; they try to hit him with their teleporting baton, but accidentally trigger his pneumatic gun in the process and get shot in the arm. In a flashback, Gig decides not to bring his mech. Oops.

Gig and Yam activate an elevator, but they trigger an alarm in the process. Grand and Tender continue fighting the ocelli to keep Gig and Yam safe. The ocelli tries to tackle Grand with webbing, but Tender knocks it out of the way. She and Grand join Gig and Yam on the elevator.

Waltz disengages from Fourteen and runs towards the lift. Fourteen tries to chase them, but Waltz activates a smoke grenade, causing a break in the action. Tender and Gig explain that they're working with Pure Cascara and that they're here for the perpetual motion machine to help the Sailors of the Ark. Waltz counters that he's protecting a piece of Gumption's arm, which will eventually be used to rebuild Gumption. He's also very wary of Yam, but Yam explains that they're no longer aligned with the New Earth Hegemony.

After some back-and-forth, Fourteen beseeches Waltz to let them help the Sailors of the Ark defend themselves. Waltz refuses to directly help them, but advises the Notion to be careful of the Waking Cadent. He activates an explosive that destroys the last ocelli, takes off his arm, and blasts him out of the lift, leaving the Notion free to complete their mission.

The Notion arrives on another floor to retrieve the perpetual motion machine. Tender uses her abilities to transform the environment into a roller rink. They skate past the labs that are rebuilding Gumption and find the motion engine. They break a hole through the wall of the Big Garage ship and board their mechs, which are waiting for them.

Together, they escape through the crashyards and fly away. Yam admits that they're concerned that their presence will cause problems for the Sailors of the Ark. The Notion returns to the Ark-en-Ciel Amovement Park and helps them install the engine. The shield generator works, and Vanya De La Vega welcomes them back with open arms.

Several days later, Cascara arrives to survey the park. She advises Vanya on how to keep the settlement running, but ultimately defers to Vanya's leadership. Vanya also agrees to figure out how to allow the kids in the park to communicate with their families. Tender helps set up some of the Torch Units in the city, and Gig films them helping with the community to prove that they're not inherently bad. Vanya asks the Notion to come back and visit and tells Gig to make better videos, and the Notion returns to the World Without End.
